Menstrual Pain Statistics

Period Pain Stats

Period pains are the most common cause of missed school or work hours amongst females in the U.S. According to studies, menstrual pain accounts for the loss of 600 million work hours and $2 billion in productivity, every year. Since the regular consumption of NSAIDs (anti-inflammatories) leads to high risks of severe side effects, we wrote a post which is dedicated to natural menstrual cramp treatments.. In that post, we first featured this infographic. It could enhance any articles related to menstruation and that it may help males to be more understanding of the seriousness of menstrual cramps. The sources of the information used to create this infographic can be found here, and here

Risks of NSAIDs

Risks of NSAIDs

In Battle the Pain, we are all about natural remedies that are proven to be effective, as well as safe to practice/take in a long term. NSAIDs are not one of those remedies. While we are not saying they aren’t effective, and that they shouldn’t be taken at all, we want to stress on the high risks associated with the regular consumption of NSAIDs. In fact, the regular use of NSAIDs has been associated with higher risks of heart attacks, strokes, heart-related deaths, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, kidney disease, liver disease, and other horrific, undesirable side effects. You can read more about that in this Harvard Health Publishing article. This infographic was featured on another blog, within a guest-post we wrote regarding safer alternatives to NSAIDs.

Injury Infographic

The infographic is designed to show people what injuries pose the biggest threat to them so that they can take action to prevent those injuries. I wrote a guest post designated to some preventative measures for the injuries, which are common for most of the popular sports and activities (e.g. ankle sprains, hamstring strains, tennis elbow, shoulder injuries, etc). The post is called How to Prevent The Injuries Most Likely to Happen to You, and it’s published on Positivemed.com.
